Post-processing is part of the manufacturing route. Support removal, surface finishing and any required property-related treatment affect both the work involved and the sequence of production.
Separate function from appearance
Mark the functional surfaces and cosmetic areas on the drawing. Specify measurable surface requirements where needed, and use a reference image to explain an appearance preference.
Agree what will be supplied
Ask for a quotation covering the complete part: printing, machining where specified, finishing and agreed inspection. Confirm the records and packaging required before placing the order. This gives both teams a clearer basis for a trial run and subsequent repeat orders.
