Aluminium additive manufacturing can be considered for internal passages, thin walls and integrated features that make conventional manufacturing difficult. Automotive and industrial parts are among the applications where these design choices matter.
Plan the complete route
A useful review extends beyond the printed shape. Material selection, support removal, heat treatment where required, machining and finishing all influence the final component.
Start with a clear brief
Send the CAD model alongside a drawing that identifies functional interfaces and acceptance criteria. Weight, strength and temperature targets should be assessed for the selected grade and finished part. A trial component helps establish what needs to be verified before repeat production.
