Check the package first
Resin prototypes can help teams review internal space, assembly access and interference before committing to a metal design. Identify which features are visual or dimensional references and which must carry a load. An early geometry model is not a qualified working joint.

Move to functional checks deliberately
Nylon prototypes may support selected assembly and motion studies when the loads and material properties permit. Define the test conditions before installing motors, bearings or other hardware. Printed polymer parts should not be assumed to replicate metal stiffness, fatigue life or thermal behaviour.
Confirm the final interfaces
As the design stabilises, precision bearing seats, mounting faces and toleranced features may require CNC-machined metal parts. Keep revisions, test results and acceptance criteria aligned across iterations. Compare total development effort rather than promising a fixed saving or universal turnaround time.
What to share with the development team
- Current CAD revision and assembly references
- Bearing seats, datums and critical fits
- Test purpose, loading and environmental conditions
- Quantity, finish and inspection requirements
Discuss your part with CK.
CK offers resin and nylon printing alongside in-house CNC machining. Discuss the validation stage and drawing requirements so the prototype route fits the question you need to answer.
