3D CAD or print model
RequiredProvide a model for every part, using STEP / STP, STL or a supported 3D format. Keep the file name matched to the RFQ part number.
GUIDE 02 / FILE PREPARATION
A complete 3D model and parts list help us review the process, material and finishing route sooner — and quote the requirements you actually need.

Put the key requirements in the first enquiry.
Review geometry, material and scope together.
Keep quotation, production and inspection aligned.
WHAT TO PROVIDE
The model defines the shape. Your parts list defines the material, appearance and quantity. Add a drawing for features that need controlled tolerances or inspection.

Provide a model for every part, using STEP / STP, STL or a supported 3D format. Keep the file name matched to the RFQ part number.
State the intended requirements in the parts list. If the route is undecided, describe the application and ask CK to recommend a suitable option.
Add a drawing when tolerances, threads, roughness or inspection points must be controlled. Identify any interfaces that need CNC post-machining.
YOUR RFQ PARTS LIST
Follow the required-field order in the CK RFQ list. Where the requirement is already on the controlled drawing, refer to that drawing rather than re-enter conflicting values.

A FINAL QUICK CHECK
Complete and consistent files help CK assess your part faster and prepare an accurate quotation. Use this checklist to catch missing details.

DETAILS THAT HELP
A few practical points to help you prepare the right information. For a drawing-specific question, ask our team.
Export the complete geometry as a watertight mesh. Check the exported file for unintended openings and visibly faceted curves. State the intended units and overall size: STL does not store a unit definition.
Tell us how the part will be used, along with the intended material, appearance and functional requirements. CK can review a suitable process for the application; the same route will not suit every design.
For quotation, send the intended finished-part geometry and identify important surfaces or orientation requirements. Let CK review build preparation and any support strategy before production.
Include a drawing that identifies the critical interfaces, datums, threads, tolerances and surface requirements. We can review printing and CNC post-machining together as one planned route.
